Most likely the spatter will stick to the clamp. Spraying it with anti-spatter will reduce this. Like any clamp used in conjunction with welding there will be wear and spatter build up. If you are one who takes care of your tools then it will last a long time.
Does tacking with 6010 get spatter on the clamp? Or does it not stick to the clamp?
Two bridge tacks with low hydrogen rod then remove clamp and two root tacks with cellulose rod
